I haven’t done a Top 5 in a WHILE, but that doesn’t mean my love for skincare has changed at all. I’m continuing to get monthly facials at Face Foundrie (use code Nora00C4 to get $10 off your visit!) here in the Twin Cities and soaking up all of the excellent knowledge the estheticians can give me. I was there just a few weeks ago getting the Cryo Queen facial and the gal doing my facial suggested I needed to exfoliate more. This is something I never think about, but I think is a widely discussed topic among the skincare community. Should I exfoliate every day? Once a week? My esthetician suggested 2-3 times per week and that’s the schedule I’m starting in January. Without further ado, here is my nighttime skincare routine.
La Roche-Posay Hydrating Gentle Cleanser On the days that I’m not exfoliating, I like to use something really gentle on my skin. This is one of my favorite skincare brands and one that I have seen results from since day one. I tend to have somewhat sensitive skin, and this doesn’t bother me at all. It’s a great daily or multi-daily use cleanser. On the days that I am exfoliating, I grab Clinique Exfoliating Face Scrub. I have been using Clinique products for years and I know every skincare pro is screaming right now. However, I’ve had wonderful luck with these products and still tend to use some of them from time to time.
La Roche-Posay Hyalu B5 Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum I love this product so much. It plumps and repairs all my dry skin (hello, Minnesota in January) and is great if you have sensitive skin. I will note on this product however, it does have a pretty strong fragrance. I love the smell of this, but I noticed a lot of the reviews note the fragrance which some people may hate. I use this immediately after I cleanse my skin.
Cerave Eye Repair Cream After my serum is absorbed, I apply my eye repair cream. Crows feet are my absolute bugaboo area, so I try to give special attention to making sure my under eyes stay extra hydrated. I’m loving this eye repair cream. It goes on smooth and dries quickly. I feel like it’s actually hydrating my skin when I use it.
Sunday Riley C.E.O. Glow Face Oil I. Love. This. Stuff. This is the perfect face oil. The smell is a bit odd because of the turmeric in it, but seriously when I wake up in the morning my face feels so hydrated. This is such a great oil to use in the winter and dryer months. I’m not sure if I’ll continue to use this when it gets more humid here, but I’ll absolutely test it out and let you know. I’m a huge fan of Sunday Riley in general and this is another great product of theirs.
La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Dual Action Acne Treatment I’ve shared this product before but this is hands-down the best overnight spot treatment I’ve ever used. An esthetician friend recommended it to me when I was struggling with acne a few years ago and I’ve continued to buy it for years since. Once a week I’ll put it on my problem areas (chin and jaw line) and in the morning it’ll be like nothing was ever there. Just leaves me with beautiful, clear skin. If you only buy one thing from this list do not hesitate to grab this. I’ve also used it on trouble spots on my chest and shoulders when I get workout acne in the summertime.
