Being a homeowner is always full of surprises. We bought our home in 2016 and have learned by trial and error throughout the years of being there how to make repairs, when to hire someone to fix something, etc. Our house was a flip and there were corners that were cut. Needless to say, we like to keep up on home maintenance to make sure everything is running smoothly, and we don’t have any surprise costs along the way. One of those home maintenance upkeep items is our furnace and air conditioning systems. They were new in 2015, but I always want to ensure they are running efficiently, and no expensive problems pop up. As most of you know, Ryan and I travel a ton and this is something we don’t want to worry about while we’re exploring the world.
I met Aquarius Home Services this spring when they began promoting a $55 tune-up deal for furnaces and air conditioning units. I had had our system tuned up in the past, but it had been a few years and I knew I needed it looked at again. I met with Aquarius at the Minneapolis Home & Garden Show and had a great conversation with Chad who talked about the importance of getting a system tune-up and what makes Aquarius stand out from their competition.

$55 Combo Tune-Up
I scheduled my tune-up right away. Annual maintenance on your furnace and AC is so important in making sure your systems run at maximum efficiency. In the Midwest, our HVAC systems work very hard with heating season rolling right into cooling season normally. For only $55, Aquarius will send a trained professional out to your home to completely look over your mechanical systems. We were lucky enough to have Chris come to the house to check out our furnace. He was extremely knowledgeable and thorough. He took dozens of photos of our system, checked it completely and then walked us through each item that he looked at. He offered a couple of small maintenance suggestions that we could make over the next couple of years to get maximum efficiency out of our unit.
For our AC tune-up, we had Brandon over to the house a couple of weeks later. If you’re getting your AC tuned up, it’s best to wait until the weather warms up a bit so it’s closer to the season where you’re actually using it. Brandon did inside and outside checks of our AC system and took dozens of photos of our unit so he could walk us through each step of the tune-up. After the appointment, he walked us through everything he looked at and gave us a few tips on how to get the maximum efficiency out of our AC.
A few things that stood out to me over the month of having appointments with Aquarius is that they are extremely respectful of your time. I know most people don’t want to hear that their repairman will show up in a four-hour window. Aquarius gives you constant updates on when they will arrive with an estimated time of arrival via phone call and text so that your entire day isn’t dedicated to sitting around and waiting for someone to arrive. They also all offered to wear a mask in the house, brought their own carpet to wipe their feet on and wore booties over their shoes in the house. They all walked me through each system they looked over, asked me if I had any questions and explained things in terms I understood. They left me their written reports and emailed me a copy of each.
Aquarius also offers a variety of other services including water heater installs and repairs, tankless water heater installations, sump pump replacements and repairs, water conditioning, electrical repair, electrical panel repairs and replacements, electrical wiring, and EV charger installations. They service Minnesota and Wisconsin with possible plans to grow in the future.
